Our next Success Story shines a spotlight on Akhil Amin, our Channel Manager. Since joining CybaVerse in 2024, Akhil has played a key role in strengthening our partner relationships and supporting the growth of our Cyber SaaS platform. In this feature, we sat down with Akhil to share his journey and the impact he’s made on the team so far.
Could you tell us about your professional journey and experiences that led you to join CybaVerse? What drew you to working with us?
I’ve spent the past four years in cyber security, gaining experience across a range of environments. These include a small consultancy working with public sector clients and an MSSP focused primarily on vendor reselling, working with providers such as CheckPoint and Rapid7.
Currently, I’m at CybaVerse as a Channel Manager, where we have evolved into a Cyber SaaS vendor. This transformation is both unique and exciting. What drew me to CybaVerse was its rapid growth and forward-thinking trajectory, as well as the opportunity to bring different ideas to the table. It's a rare company that not only offers a robust platform but also backs it up with deep technical expertise. Our teams, including SOC, Red and Blue, actively support everything from scoping calls to client engagement and full delivery, making us truly end-to-end in our capabilities.
How has your educational and professional background contributed to your success in your current role at CybaVerse?
Before moving into cyber security, I worked in retail sales, which helped me develop strong interpersonal skills, customer-centric thinking and the ability to communicate clearly with a wide range of people. These skills are just as important in cyber security sales. Academically, I developed a solid foundation in problem-solving and communication. These have proven essential in navigating complex security challenges and engaging effectively with both clients and partners.
Professionally, I’ve had the opportunity to work within different sectors, including Private Equity, Healthcare and Manufacturing. This variety exposed me to multiple perspectives within different industries, helping me understand the needs of different stakeholders and how to tailor solutions accordingly.
What unique skills, experiences, or perspectives do you bring to your role at CybaVerse?
I bring a unique blend of technical insight, commercial awareness and partner engagement experience to my role at CybaVerse. Having worked across different areas of the cyber security landscape, including a small consultancy, an MSSP and the vendor reseller space, I’ve developed a well-rounded understanding of how different parts of the industry operate. This allows me to effectively communicate with both technical teams and business stakeholders, bridging the gap between cyber security challenges and real-world solutions.
One of my key strengths is building and maintaining strong relationships, particularly with channel partners. I’ve helped bring multiple partners onto our platform through referrals and events, and I take pride in helping them enhance their cyber security capabilities through tailored guidance and platform enablement.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my role is collaborating with our channel partners. By leveraging our platform, I help them strengthen their security posture and deepen their cyber security knowledge. It's fulfilling to see our partners grow more confident and capable in delivering value to their own clients through the insights and tools we provide.
What sort of activities and involvement in projects have you had? Are there any standout moments you’ve found particularly memorable?
At CybaVerse, I’ve been actively involved in a variety of client-facing and strategic initiatives. My role includes participating in scoping calls with clients and partners leveraging our Cyber SaaS platform.
One of the standout moments in my time here was working on a three-year SOC deal. I guided the client from initial discussions through to onboarding and delivery, and we had to achieve a quick turnaround time as well. I also played a key role in bringing a private equity client onto our platform, aligning our capabilities with their portfolio-wide security needs. Additionally, I’ve helped onboard multiple channel partners through both referrals and industry events, further expanding our reach and strengthening our partner ecosystem.
In your opinion, what sets CybaVerse apart as a workplace? How does the company foster a positive and inclusive culture?
One word that comes to mind when people ask me what makes us different is collaboration. All teams work with each other to enhance the companies capabilities. Everyone gets along and this enables us to offer the best possible services to clients and partners.
Have you undertaken or plan to undertake any training or development that will assist with your role at CybaVerse?
I have had training with the team, all in different capacities, from a technical aspect, channel and direct sales perspective. They have helped me view certain situations in a different light, and that has contributed significantly to my development over the past year and a half.
What are your hobbies or passions outside of work? What do you like to do in your free time?
Outside of work, I am big into my sports, whether that be football, padel, golf or American football. These are things I enjoy with both family and friends. I also enjoy my nights out, meeting new people and spending time with the people closest to me.
If you could give one piece of advice to new employees joining CybaVerse, what would it be?
Be yourself, don’t change who you are, they will like you for you. If you want to be heard, you will be.
