Marion Barnham

Marion Barnham is a marketing leader with two decades of experience across diverse sectors, including automotive, defence, engineering, and cyber security. Her marketing journey began not in a boardroom but in a classroom, where a passionate Media Studies teacher, Mr. Mills, vividly demonstrated that marketing was both an art and a science, which ignited a lifelong passion.

After earning her BA and MA in Marketing from Newcastle University, Marion honed her skills first as Marketing Manager at BMW Park Lane. She then embarked on a unique challenge, heading up marketing communications for the 7th Armoured Brigade in Germany, gaining invaluable insights into complex marketing and communication strategies.

Upon returning to London, Marion pioneered the establishment of the first marketing function at the FTSE 100 construction giant Murphy. Her move into cyber security saw her take on the Chief Business Development Officer role for a company transitioning from a VAR to an MSP, collaborating with industry leaders.

Marion then leveraged her experience to advise SMBs, guiding them to build, implement, and optimise robust marketing functions.

Joining CybaVerse as a fractional CMO, Marion was drawn to the team's dedication to equipping MSPs and SMEs to solve critical cyber security challenges.

Career highlights include navigating the complex rebrand of Murphy, a company deeply rooted in 60 years of history and 4,000 employees. She takes particular pride in democratising sophisticated marketing strategies, typically reserved for larger corporations, for SMBs. A truly memorable experience was coordinating communications around the 65th liberation of Bergen Belsen.

Now based in the Cotswolds, Marion enjoys exploring her new surroundings with long dog walks, immersing herself in house renovations, and rediscovering her enthusiasm for the gym, which brings renewed energy to all aspects of her life.
