Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Respond to system generated alerts, analyse logs and traffic patterns and carry out in-depth investigation on security events working in a 24/7 rota.

2. Respond to security incidents by following predefined procedures, including containment, eradication, and recovery.

3. Provide remote incident response and forensic activities during security incidents using DFIR methodologies.

4. Produce reports to customers.

5. Provide expert level advice to customers.

6. Assist in tuning and configuring systems to improve detection capabilities and reduce false positives.

7. Use a variety of security tools and technologies, such as endpoint detection and response (EDR), network traffic analysis (NTA), and threat intelligence platforms.

About you

1. Knowledge of Windows and Linux host based forensic artefacts and techniques.

2. Experience with EDR and SIEM technologies.

3. Proficiency in monitoring security events, analysing alerts, and managing security incidents, including incident prioritization and escalation.

4. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to explain technical problems to non-technical business stakeholders at all levels.

5. Understanding of networking and infrastructure design.

6. Knowledge of malware capabilities, attack vectors and impact.

7. Knowledge of the MITRE ATT&CK framework to understand threat actors and how to mitigate them.

Required Certifications (at least one required):

1. Blue Team Level 1

2. CompTIA Security+

3. CompTIA Network+

Preferred Certifications

1. SANS GCIH (GIAC Certified Incident Handler)

2. SANS GCIA (GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst)

3. SANS GCFA (GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst)

4. SANS GCFE (GIAC Certified Forensic Examiner)

5. SANS GNFA (GIAC Network Forensic Analyst)
