CybaVerse and Tieva Strengthen Cyber Security Partnership at Enablement Day

Last week, CybaVerse CEO Oliver Spence travelled to Leeds with team members, Akhil and Molly, to spend the day at TIEVA's head office. The agenda combined hands-on platform training, open strategic discussion and a laser tag challenge that turned the office into a Cyber Operators battlefield.

The result was an enablement day that felt less like a vendor visit and more like a team working session between two organisations with a shared goal: delivering stronger cyber security outcomes for their customers.

The CybaVerse and TIEVA partner enablement day brought together relationship-building, technical training on CybaOps, and a practical activity designed to reflect the real-world skills cyber security teams rely on every day.

This article covers what the day involved, what the laser tag challenge reveals about cyber incident response and what CybaVerse's approach to partner enablement looks like in practice.

What Was the CybaVerse and TIEVA Partner Enablement Day?

The CybaVerse and TIEVA partner enablement day was a full-day collaborative session held at TIEVA's Leeds head office. It was designed to deepen the working relationship between both teams, provide practical training on CybaOps and explore how TIEVA can use CybaVerse's MDR-first cyber security platform to strengthen its customer offering.

The day had three distinct parts:

  1. Laser tag challenge: A competitive team activity designed to mirror the decision-making and communication skills required in the real cyber world.
  2. CybaOps platform training: A hands-on session covering the latest developments across the platform and how it supports managed detection and response
  3. Open partner discussion: A collaborative conversation about how CybaVerse can better support TIEVA, its team, and its customers going forward

For CybaVerse, the format was deliberate. Cyber security moves fast, demands clear thinking under pressure and rewards teams that communicate well. An enablement day worth having should reflect all of that.

Turning TIEVA's Office into a Cyber Operator Battlefield

The day opened with something few partner visits include: a full laser tag challenge, played out across TIEVA's office space.

Both teams were split and given a clear mission: infiltrate the opposing team's territory, capture their flag and return it safely to base without being tagged. Laser guns in hand, competitive spirits high, the game was fast, physical and genuinely engaging from the first round.

There was laughter, improvised strategy and plenty of friendly rivalry. But the activity was not just a warm-up exercise.

Why Laser Tag? The Thinking Behind the Activity

CybaVerse designed the challenge to surface the same behaviours that cyber security teams rely on when responding to a live incident:

  • Situational awareness: Knowing where threats are coming from and adapting in real time
  • Clear communication: Coordinating with teammates under time pressure
  • Rapid decision-making: Acting on incomplete information without freezing
  • Adaptability: Adjusting tactics as the situation changes

These are not soft skills. They are operational skills. And they are exactly what separates a security team that contains an incident from one that lets it escalate.

The format made those skills visible in a way that a presentation simply cannot. When the pressure is on and the situation is moving fast, you find out quickly how a team actually operates.

"I loved it. Everybody loved it.

The outside the box thinking of the laser tag was a genius move, people who never normally take part in these things were up and about. The presentations were interesting and engaging so we took everything in. The help we got in the afternoon and plan moving forward excited us, particularly my team. Usually we move on from those days and by Thursday we don't mention it again and go back to our normal jobs, but last week and this week we've all been actively pursuing some cyber opportunities and that is down wholly to the information and help we got last week."

Introducing TIEVA to CybaOps

After the laser tag challenge, both teams came together for the technical heart of the day: a collaborative session focused on CybaOps and the support available across the CybaVerse partner network.

What Is CybaOps?

CybaOps is CybaVerse's MDR-first cyber security platform, built to help organisations detect, investigate, respond to and remediate cyber threats from a single unified environment. Rather than managing a fragmented stack of disconnected tools, CybaOps brings the core functions of security operations together in one place.

During the session, Oliver, Akhil and Molly walked the TIEVA team through the latest developments across the platform, including how CybaOps supports a more connected approach to managed detection and response.

The discussion was practical and two-directional. TIEVA had the opportunity to ask questions directly, explore specific use cases relevant to its customers, and understand how CybaOps can strengthen its existing cyber security offering.

For TIEVA, the session provided clarity on how to position CybaOps in customer conversations and where it adds the most value. For CybaVerse, it was an opportunity to listen, understand TIEVA's customer challenges in more depth, and identify where additional support would make the biggest difference.

Key takeaway: Platform training is most effective when it is built around a partner's specific customer base, not delivered as a generic product overview. That is the approach CybaVerse takes with every enablement session.

How CybaVerse Supports Its Cyber Security Partners

CybaVerse's goal is to act as an extension of its partners' teams, not as another technology vendor dropping a product and moving on. That distinction matters, particularly in cyber security, where partners need to be able to speak confidently about the solutions they recommend and respond effectively when their customers face threats.

What Partner Support Looks Like in Practice

The CybaVerse partner programme is built around giving partners the confidence, context, and operational backing they need at every stage of the customer relationship.

Support includes:

  • Technical pre-sales assistance: Helping partners scope and position CybaVerse solutions for specific customer needs
  • Product demonstrations: Delivering platform demos that speak to the customer's environment and risk profile
  • CybaOps platform enablement: Hands-on training so partner teams can use and advocate for the platform with confidence
  • Onboarding support: Ensuring new customer deployments go smoothly from day one
  • Managed detection and response expertise: Access to CybaVerse's security operations capability when partners need it
  • Cyber threat investigation and remediation support: Direct involvement when customers face active threats
  • Ongoing customer success: Continued engagement beyond the initial sale to help customers get lasting value

The Difference Between a Vendor and a Partner

Most technology vendors provide documentation and a support line. CybaVerse's approach is different. Days like this with TIEVA, exist because the team believes that strong partnerships are built through direct engagement, shared experience and a genuine understanding of what each partner is trying to achieve for its customers.

That is not a marketing position. It is how CybaVerse operates.

Why Partner Enablement Matters in Cyber Security

Cyber security is not a static product category. Threats evolve continuously, customer environments grow more complex and the bar for what constitutes adequate protection keeps rising. Partners operating in this space need more than a product licence. They need the knowledge, confidence, and support to navigate it.

The National Cyber Security Centre consistently highlights that organisations relying on trusted partners for cyber security guidance are better positioned to respond to emerging threats. That guidance is only as good as the enablement behind it.

What Strong Enablement Achieves

When partners are properly enabled, the benefits flow directly to end customers:

  • Partners can identify customer vulnerabilities and risks more accurately
  • Customer conversations become more substantive and solution-focused
  • Incident response is faster because partners understand the tools and processes involved
  • Customers receive consistent, confident guidance rather than generic advice

Weak enablement has the opposite effect. Partners who do not fully understand a platform will undersell it, misapply it or fail to use it when it matters most.

That is why CybaVerse treats enablement as an ongoing investment rather than a one-time onboarding activity. The day in Leeds was not a box-ticking exercise. It was part of a longer commitment to building a partnership with TIEVA that genuinely delivers for both teams and for the customers they serve.

Building Stronger Cyber Security Outcomes Together

A huge thank you to everyone at TIEVA for welcoming the CybaVerse team to Leeds and throwing themselves fully into the day. From the laser tag challenge to the platform session and everything in between, the engagement from the TIEVA team made it exactly the kind of day CybaVerse set out to create.

The partnership between CybaVerse and TIEVA is built on a shared commitment to delivering better cyber security outcomes for the organisations they work with. Days like this one are how that commitment becomes something tangible.

CybaVerse looks forward to continuing to grow the partnership and to finding new ways to support TIEVA, its team, and its customers.
