How did your background and career path lead you to CybaVerse, and what attracted you to the company?

What drew me to my role here at CybaVerse was the opportunity to work on a variety of technically challenging and impactful cyber security projects. These experiences have not only sharpened my technical capabilities but also allowed me to continuously evolve in a fast-paced and innovative environment. The company’s strong emphasis on maintaining a healthy work-life balance as well as dedicated support for continuous professional development, has enabled me to excel both personally and in my cyber security career. 

How do your educational and professional experiences support the work you do at CybaVerse today?

My educational background has played a big part in helping me hit the ground running at CybaVerse. Studying BSc Computer Security and later earning an MSc in Cyber Security gave me a solid understanding of the core concepts. I was able to build on that through hands-on experience in fast-paced SOC environments which helped me develop the technical expertise and practical skills essential to thrive in my current role. 

What unique qualities do you contribute to your role at CybaVerse?

I bring a mix of hands-on security experience and a practical, problem-solving approach. My time in fast-paced SOC environments helped me build strong skills in incident response, threat hunting, and fine-tuning detection rules to cut through the noise and focus on what really matters. What sets me apart is that I go beyond just handling the technical work, I also enjoy mentoring others, sharing practical knowledge, and breaking down complex security concepts. I’ve found that combining solid technical skills with a collaborative, problem-solving mindset is what really helps me make an impact.

What kinds of projects and activities have you been involved in, and are there any standout moments that were especially memorable?

I’ve had the chance to work on some really exciting projects, from getting hands-on with DFIR during incident response, to carrying out configuration reviews and digging into pen test reports. Each of these experiences has given me fresh insights and broadened my exposure to different areas of cyber security.

What do you think makes CybaVerse a unique place to work, and how does the company encourage a positive, inclusive culture?

What makes CybaVerse stand out is the balance between doing great work and supporting each other. The company fosters a positive culture by encouraging open communication, supporting personal growth, and making sure everyone feels like they truly belong. It’s a place where you can be yourself, let your ideas flow, and feel like you are part of a team that grows together.

Have you completed, or do you plan to pursue, any training or development to support your role at CybaVerse?

Currently, I'm studying for the SC-200 certification while also continuing to build my knowledge through different training platforms. Alongside that, I’ve been working on creating and fine-tuning security alerts allowing me to gain experience in the skills required to advance towards a security engineering role.

How do you like to spend your time away from work?

I like to stay active outside of work, splitting my time between the gym for jiu jitsu training and outdoor adventures with my dog, Snoopy. Whether it’s walking around the city or hiking trails, these moments help me unwind and recharge for the week ahead.

What guidance would you offer to employees joining CybaVerse?

If I could give one piece of advice to new team members, it would be to jump in and get involved. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, share your ideas, and collaborate with others as everyone here is approachable and always willing to help.
